53.5.1 Major in Computing Science
A student may choose a BA or BSc in Computing Science. See §15.3 for Admission Requirements.
I. Requirements
General Stream

Practicum Stream: AUCSC 401 and 402, plus all the requirements of the General Stream as listed above. |
II.Additional information for students
AUCSC 112 requires AUMAT 110 or 111, or 116 and 120 as corequisites. | |
AUCSC 340 requires AUMAT 211 as a prerequisite, which in turn requires AUMAT 112 as a prerequisite. | |
At least 3 in Physics is recommended. | |
Many senior Computing Science courses are offered in alternate years only. Some 300- and 400-level Computing Science courses are offered only if there is sufficient student demand. | |
AUCSC 401 and 402 are practicum courses available to a limited number of senior Computing Science majors. Each of these courses provides four months of practical experience either through employment in an information systems context with an external organization, or through a directed self-study (possibly leading to a professional certification). |
