134.4.1 General Information

This program is for Registered Nurses who have graduated from an approved diploma program and who are eligible for registration in Alberta. To be admitted to this program, all applicants must have proof of having worked the equivalent of full-time hours as a registered nurse for a minimum of 12 months (not necessarily consecutive, i.e., 1,920 hours) since graduation from the nursing diploma program.

The Faculty of Nursing will not admit to the BScN Post RN Program starting September 1, 2011. Contact the Faculty of Nursing for information regarding readmission.

(1)

The curriculum is designed to be taken over one year. Application for an extension to the program must be submitted to the Student Advisor. With approval, students have three years from the time of admission to complete the requirements for this program.

Students are responsible for the completeness and accuracy of their registrations. Particular care should be exercised regarding prerequisite courses.

(3)

Placements can be made anywhere in the greater Edmonton area (Devon, Fort Saskatchewan, Leduc, Morinville, St Albert, Sherwood Park, Spruce Grove and Stony Plain) or as far away as 150 kilometers.
