Transfer from One Route to Another: Students who wish to change their route should consult Undergraduate Student Services. Route changes are possible, but students must meet all the requirements of the new route, which may involve additional coursework. Admission to the new route is on a competitive basis.

Students wishing to change their Route must submit an Application for Readmission/Internal Transfer form to the Office of the Registrar.

Review of Programs: A student who has failed to complete the degree in 15 years, may have the program reviewed and, if necessary, rearranged according to prevailing requirements.

Attendance at Another Institution as a Visiting Student: Following initial admission, students are expected to complete all requirements at the University of Alberta. However, under academically justifiable special circumstances students, prior to registering in any course at another institution, may apply to Undergraduate Student Services for permission to take courses at another institution for application to their program if:

Approval will not be granted for the following requests: if the equivalent course is available to that student on campus in the same term, if the student has already received the maximum allowable transfer credits, or if course activity may or will overlap any professional term. Transfer credit will not be granted unless prior permission has been obtained in writing.
