The Faculty of Extension offers a number of non-credit citation, certificate, and diploma programs.
94.1 Adult Education
The programs described in this section are professional development for educators of adults.
94.1.1 Certificate in Adult and Continuing Education
The Certificate in Adult and Continuing Education (CACE) program provides professionals with the opportunity to enhance their competencies associated with the design, development and delivery of adult education and training. The certificate is comprised of 8-10 courses. Seminars and workshops offered in the CACE program are relevant to various occupations including instructors, trainers, staff development officers, counsellors, group leaders, curriculum designers and human resource professionals. Participants come from a wide range of public and private organizations and educational institutions. 94.1.1.1 Teaching in English Citation
This citation program is designed for higher-education instructors whose native language is not English, but who are required to teach programs in English. These instructors must not only improve their competence in spoken and written English, but also develop teaching techniques that will meet the expectations of international students. The program consists of six required courses plus two elective courses. Each course consists of 13 hours of instruction.
