76.1 Program Requirements
Note for all Routes: If 6 in English/French Literature and Composition have not been presented in the first degree, these must be successfully completed within the Bachelor of Education (After Degree) program to meet graduation requirements.
76.1.1 Adult Education Route (60)
General Information
The Adult Education Route in the Bachelor of Education degree is a continuing professional education program for adult educators and trainers instructing in various settings.
The Adult Education Route will not qualify for Teacher Certification.
Time Limit for Completing the Adult Education Route BEd Degree.
Current students admitted prior to September 2004 must complete the program requirements in effect at the time of admission on or before April 30, 2007.
Advanced Standing (30)
Individuals admitted into the Bachelor of Education—Adult Education Route will be awarded Advanced Standing of 30. No transfer courses from outside the University of Alberta are permitted.

Eligible courses in a completed Diploma in Postsecondary Education may be used to fulfill the program requirements of a BEd Adult Education Route/After Degree program.

Please note that the Faculty of Education is in the process of revising the Bachelor of Education After Degree Elementary Education Route. Pending approval, the revised program will commence in 2014-2015. Please see Undergraduate Student Services, Faculty of Education for more details. |

Students who have not met the following requirements in their previous degree will need to fulfil them prior to obtaining their BEd degree: 6 in English/French Literature and Composition 36 in the major teaching subject 18 in the minor teaching subject Note: Students who have already taken during their previous degree some of the Education courses listed in (1)-(6) above may substitute an equivalent number of credits from (7) or an equivalent number of Education Option credits. |
